Thank you for your interest in the Michigan City Community Enrichment Corporation’s Grant Funding Cycle. The Corporation was organized as a public benefit corporation to serve organizations that qualify as Section 501(c)(3) under the Internal Revenue Service and benefit the people of the Michigan City Area School District.

All applications must include evidence that the organization is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) charitable organization and that the services are performed within the boundaries of the Michigan City Area School district. Budgets for the past two years (all of 2022 and through the fall of 2023) must accompany the application. Submitting timely and complete semi-annual reports is required. Failure to do so may result in disqualifying future grant requests. New requirements this year include funding requests are limited to $30,000 per program. Each organization that submits more than one application must assign a numerical priority to each program in order of importance.

Your Grant Application should be “all-inclusive”, as presentations will not be permitted. However, the Board may request further information from you after a review of the Grant Applications. If your organization is applying for more than one grant, you will need to use a different email address and password for each grant application. No changes can be made once the application is submitted.

The grant application requires supporting files. These items include a Financial Statement for the current year and the previous year, including the current year IRS Determination Letter showing your 501(c)(3) Status. There are several other documents needed as listed in the Grant Application. During the application process you may print your application at any time. This may be helpful for proofreading it before the application is submitted. After submitting your grant application, you will be able to read and print it.
