Thank you for your interest in the Michigan City Community Enrichment Corporation.  The purpose of the Michigan City Community Enrichment Corporation is to receive and accept money from Blue Chip Casino, Inc. pursuant to the terms of the Riverboat Gaming Development Agreement dated June 10, 1997, between Blue Chip Casino, Inc. and the City of Michigan City, Indiana, and to administer and expend those funds exclusively to 501(C)(3) qualified not-for-profit organizations supporting public purposes, primarily in and for the benefit of the people of the Michigan City community.  

The Michigan City Community Enrichment Corporation has funded over $12,000,000 to Community organizations that provide programs and services to the Michigan City Area School District.  Each year, the Washington Park Zoo receives $100,000 from MCCEC.  Programs and services include youth programs, health initiatives, cultural development and awareness, homelessness and others.  Please visit the news/updates section to learn more about these programs and services. 

The 2026 – 27 Grant applications will be open October 1, 2026 through December 4, 2026.  Please review the eligibility requirements for applications.

– Organizations must be a 501(C)(3) designated by the IRS.

– The application must be completed with all questions answered and all required documents attached.

– Organizations applying for the 2026-27 grant cycle for the first time within the past three (3) years are required to attend one of two workshops at City Hall in the EOS room on the lower level.  The workshops will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, 10:30 am – 12 noon and on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm.  All organizations applying are encouraged to attend.  Please RSVP to harrispat@att.net.

Organizations for the 2026-27 grant application may submit a maximum of two (2) applications with a $25,000 limit on each.  The application will require a priority to be assigned when submitting two applications.
